Dreams
Why are dreams done in the dark?
Is their substance gossamer?
Can they not compete with rainbows,
Iridescent wings that shimmer"
What form do dreamshape shadows,
Take when fallen on the ground?
Can you learn of fancy creatures?
Is there meaning to be found?
Dreams do not compete with sunshine,
Garish in the light of day,
They are much more subtle tidings,
Gentle in a stubborn way.
Giving guidance with a yearning,
A spiders thread that pulls us on,
Leading us through darkened mazes,
Til our aspirations gone.
Dreams are all we have to live for,
All the hope that life can give,
Yearnings bound into a compass,
Seek the way, and choose to live.
