Cat Mountain is a relatively (last thirty years) new subdivision in the NW Hills part of Austin - read high $$$. If we ever get a snow or ice storm, bro will not be able to get to work due to the steep hills, driveways, etc.
I would bet ya that per square foot, his Austin home will cost more in taxes than in the Woodlands...people in Austin have never seen a bond election that they didn't love. Of course, having fifty thousand mush-heads at UT who have no idea how bonds are repaid doesn't hurt anything.
Come see us.
Where in Austin are you? I don't know if ol Bro knows about the bonds and taxes situation yet...but I think he can manage it. He is a lawyer and they got a condo in the Woodlands and just spent about 40G redoing the kitchen family room area. He and I and our other brother share a condo in the same complex so the kitchen needed doing. Said they got the supplies at Home Depot and a friend who is a contractor did the work for them. The house in Austin is I bet 4000 sqft..the one they sold was 6000 or there about. said the new digs are 30 years old and that the previous owner did lots of updating so they don't really have to do anything except maybe change paint colors or something simple like that which is nice. But the wife is changing the theme of the house from southwestern to tuscan...the condo stays southwesternish...he will keep is law office in Houston and thanks to cyberworld electronics can work from any place anymore...
