I need help the software that comes with digital camera is it similar to other photo shops and can you use these programs for different camera?

It is all muddled in my mind!

I have to visualize things to be able to use it!

I am mechanical and this cyber world leaves me floating around! If I were to scan photos on my computer I still don't know how to preparer them to post on the net! In order to be Internet ready do you have to use something like pbase or folki ?
