Yes, and we can blame it on Medicare. Before Medicare, families kept their parents or grandparents at home as long as they could possibly take care of them. And if they could not, they had to place them in private facilities. You better believe they got excellent care, because the families were paying out of their own pockets. Now, I know so many people who couldn't care less if their family member was being cared for. In fact, they only visit once a month to berate the staff.
Sad.
Or the county "Poor House"....I've seen those kind of places...
And Medicare doesn't pay for long term care..You have to pay for that with private insurance or out of your own pocket....Keep a pistol handy to avoid that kind of situation.....
