Well, I don't think the film is supposed to be about Kerry himself - just a generic vet. You know what great fun filmmakers have had with Vietnam vets through the last few decades... they make perfect villains or dysfunctional characters because they've been so traumatized. Great qualification to be President of the U.S., eh?

I suppose, but the impression I got from the article was that dear old dad was the model for the "generic" vet.
I mean, how many vets came home and spilled fine Chardonay on their shirts? None I know of...we might have spilled a beer or two, but wine???
