My sentiments exactly, Resty. I think something that we missed in the hearings is that these were detainees, not POW's in the Iraq prison. There were conditions that were not met under the GC treaty guide lines, as they were not in uniform and not entitled to POW status, but only unlawful combatants. Of course, that gets lost in the politics on the hill.
They were terrorists who hid behind the skirts of women and fought from mosques and Red Cross vehicles.
Do I have any sympathy for them and their humiliation? NO
But, I still want the women generals, the MP and MI who were in charge of this whole mess to pay the price for their incompetence. They were both promoted after Tailhook farce to their 'Peter Principle' positions. They had a spitting match on each other and both were afraid to even step into their own prisons to inspect. I think the buck stops with them.
I hope this farce of prison abuse and the hearings will fade with the images of an American being beheaded.

My disgust at the media and the democrats for their overplayed, badly acted outrage at the Iraqi prisoners' "sexual abuse" is deepening by the moment. They were so eager to find fault with America's military that no concern for their safety registered.Whenever you hear the call from slimy liberals to "Bring our soldiers home" know that they have not the slightest regard for any of the soldiers - they only care about hating President Bush and ridiculing American ideals.

Thanks so much for this "new to me" information.
Payoffs rarely work out all that well for either party.
