I went out last night and when I picked up a couple of girlfriends to go downtown with me, we discovered Yoda riding on the backseat of the van. He must have jumped in when I taking in the groceries earlier.

"So, you ladies going my way?" -Yoda, with a grin.

My father's cat NiMH decides once in awhile decides to 'explore' the inside of vehicles, and once in awhile jump on the hood or trunk of them while they're moving either to pull out or park.

It's quite startling to have a cat land on the hood of your car and howl at you that you're not paying attention to him.
I'm guessing that Yoda decided to check out the 'big noisy thing that mommy gets swallowed by and leaves in' as you said.
He probably thought it was pretty cool.

Looks like Yoda is tired of not going out on your jaunts. He put his paw down after your travels to the east coast and the picture diary..he wasn't in any of those pictures in Savanah or in any other scenic places and he decided he was just going along this time..
