I am not saying that Wings should not post. I just hope he doesn't. But, if he does, I am sure you will clean up for him again.

My neighbor just brought over the movie "Where the Heart Is" -- is was SO GOOD! Stars Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman and Stockard Channing. I hadn't seen it before - so glad I didn't miss it altogether.

Earlier tonight I had dinner with the scriptwriter, crew and some of the cast of a new production that will begin filming in Austin in August.
Oh, you know how I feel about the French -- not much use for them. BUT this absolutely gorgeous young man with a French accent was there - he'll be playing the male lead. *whew! He's French Canadian. I can tolerate that ... my Mr Too Young was French Canadian and there is a resemblance.
Anyway, I'll be working on that set - not sure what I'll do, but the producer said she'll find something for me. *L* Okayyyyyyy

I haven't seen the movie .. but I did read the book years ago .. It was one of Oprah's book of the month club thingys

I really enjoyed reading it.

That is pretty neat about working on the movie sets and geting to meet so many people

Good morning, Mo, everyone. Looks like a quiet thread this morning. I'm visiting my mother in Idaho, and helping to care for her. She had surgery on July 1, and I'm taking over for my sister who lives in norther Idaho. Mom is doing well, is up and about, isn't in a lot of pain, and goes to the doc tomorrow for removal of the staples, and with, luck, removal of both surgical drains. I've been here mostly to see that she doesn't try to do too much, and to help empty the fluid collected by the drains, and to make sure she eats. Other than that, she's a pretty independent soul.

Her birthday was Friday, so my husband and I bought her a simple DVD/VHS player. She would never have bought one for herself. She has an old VHS player, and rents tapes now and again, but we all know that tapes are going away fast.

Thanks, Mo! We watched The Count of Monte Cristo last night (the recent one with Jim Caviezel - I brought it with me), and I'm going to go rent "Master and Commander" for her today. I also brought "Princess Bride" with me. I sincerely doubt she'll want to rent throughe the mail. She's not really big on using the internet. Hubby and I, however, use NETFLIX and just love it.

Really good news about your mom's nice recovery. Surgery is no fun at any age.

Here's a local musican I've been photographing. Think he's teen idol worthy? Very photogenic. Says he hasn't posed for pictures before.

Oh, yeah, he's probably got teen idol potential. But then, it's been eons since I've been a teen, so it would be hard for me to judge!

Yep, mom's doing well. she's looking forward to getting those nasty surgical drains out. We'll probably go for a walk today. A short one, but at least she feels up to it.
