One of my favorite things about Eureka Springs is the houses. The town is just full of houses that are charming or elegant or a little of both. They are just full of chatacter.

Sounds like my kind of place.
"My sister was being torment by some ghost or something that was scaring the life out of her. She would not finish her hydrotherpy bath because of the eerie feeling she was getting in the dark,candle-lit room." [From the website of the hotel.]

If she were cute, that may be why she was being harrassed.
If I were a ghost and some cute young somethin' wandered through MY haunt, of course I'd bother her some.

Mo, we STAYED in the Victoria Inn. The Crescent Hotel is the haunted hotel. Not my cup of tea, but an eerily interesting place to visit. We spent a couple of hours there.

I don't think most have basements. They are built into the hills.

I had a co-worker back in the '80's who was from Germany.

She married an American and settled down in a house in Pennsylvania that was over 100 years old.

They wer living there with thier infant daughter.

Anyway the story goes, that they weren't in the house long before strange things began to happen. My co-worker was concerened for her and her daughter. She swore the house was haunted so they sold the house and moved.

My co-worker vowed that she'd never live in a house older than 10 years old as she believed the new-modern houses are never haunted.

I tend to disagree. a house does not have to be ancient to be haunted, I mean I have been in haunted houses that were only a few years old.

Have you ever been in a haunted house and did you know that the White House (over 200 years old) is really haunted.

hmmm......

Maybe we should let Kerrey in it, the GHOSTS will have him runnibg and screeming "Please!Impeach me!" LOL!

Kerry wouldn't be afraid of the shades of past greats.
He'd smugly thumb his nose at them while commiting whatever treason he could.

I've heard of placesthat were haunted, that weren't all that old as you mentioned.
Th elocal psych center here is said ot be ahunted, it's an old grey stone building from the 1800's, but the stories are hush hush and no details on them.

The ghosts won't scare Kerrey?

Not even ABE with his midnight visits to the Lincoln Bedroom? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Or Abigail Adams hanging up her laundry in the East Room?

Or Dolley Madison screeming "Get out of my garden?

How about that British soldier from the WAR of 1812?

Pippin.. the house we own in NH was built in 1702. I have never sensed a ghost in this house. It is very warm and welcoming.

My daughter does not feel the same. She swore she heard someone walking above her head one time when she was here alone. I cannot convince her that it was her imagination either.

She will only sleep uptairs now if we are in the house..the little chicken..

Naaah.
Ole traitor boy would ignore them.
Maybe even dig up the garden after getting screamed at for being in it.
If they really wanted to scare him, they'd have to hold a ghost convention and brainstorm about it a bit.
They'd have to drag him physically from the bed and down the stairs before tossing him from the front door into the night.
