I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian -- don't believe in killing animals for food, when I don't need to do so to survive and thrive.

I'm pro the Iraq war, pro unfettered 2nd Amendment rights, pro-choice, and pro-freedom (and militantly anti-socialism, since it's the antithesis of freedom).

as you see, this seems to be a diverse forum, where mostly conservative ideals are held, but not all of us hold all of them.

politically speaking, vegitarians are neutral and fall on both sides. where the difference comes in is for what reason one is a vegitarian tends to guide their vote in this field.

one who becomes a veg-head simply because they see no reason to eat an animal may risk their own health to use such a diet (and those who change to improve their diet, which is a slim crowd [no pun intended]); that sort may find themselves voting for the likes of Reagan.

those who refuse to eat animals because they feel animals are our equals tend to be a few fries short of a Happy Meal and would love to see another Klintoon in office.

the warning must be said however, that changing your diet may prove to be very risky, and as many will note:

1) we have canines for a reason! ( i dont mean pooches, i mean the pointy, flesh-tearing teeth towards the front of your mouth)

2) we are promised the animals as ours by God, and are even given guidelines to feasting on said animals.

3) our bodies need the flesh as we need the plant, hence the frequent illness associated with such a diet change. many doctors worth their salt would only recomend vegitarianism to those who are at risk by eating meat.

I am also a vegetarian - for reasons of health, morality and taste (I could no more eat a slab of red meat than I could a pile of excrement).
