It's funny you say "lunatic," when the root of the word is "luna," Latin for moon, since the symbol of Islam is the moon.

Yes, both definitions apply.

The Islamic faith has its roots in the worship of the moon god, who was worshipped by pre-Islamic pagan Arabs.

Islam is not part of the Judeo-Christian tradition.
