Had Enough

In God We Trust

If you want a grammar lesson - don't read my material - I am a product of our public education system.

Education - what education plan would Kerry have that is any different from the crap the Liberal Left has implemented to date. Again it would be the same plan that the liberal secularist and Teacher Unions have been trying to achieve over the past many years- although no child left behind may not be the best program in the world - it does follow a study conducted several years ago. That study had several groups using different techniques to educate our children. It proved that those students who were tested on a regular basis retained information longer, and did better on master testing.

What is the biggest lobby group in America - the News Media - they influence more than any other single group in the country, we will address this in future Had Enough Messages - but we are talking about education. We spend $800 BBBillion dollars on education - you could ask why

- if we off shore all the jobs - who needs an education.

The Teachers Unions and Administrative Organizations are in the top 5 when if comes to lobbyist. Have you ever heard any politician or Teachers Union Representative or School Administration say we are going to increase our productivity and lower our cost - NEVER.

Maybe we should off shore education.

Our schools are to big, they don't teach, they are politically correct, they teach our children poor social skills etc - and they cost too much. As a matter of fact they have succeeded in the dumbing down of America - some are so dumb that they believe the scare tactics used by the Democratic Party - guess what - that has been their goal.

How do you fix it - return to small schools in the neighborhood where people live, have a principle and teachers - let the community run the school, let the community set the goals they went to achieve. Our schools should be small enough to permit every child an opportunity to participate in sports, band etc - or we should not have those activities in our schools - today you have to be ready for the NFL to play high school football.

Use tax dollars to fund private schools, return pray to the class room,

Or - start over with the Public School system.

A friend sent me the message below. (I think I have one).

Math in America

Last week I purchased a bottle of water from 7-11 for $1.58. The counter girl took my $2 and I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 pennies, while looking at the screen on her register. I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me back two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help and while he tried to explain the transaction to her, she stood there and cried.

Why do I tell you this? Read on......

Teaching Math in 1950:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price. What is his profit?

Teaching Math in 1960:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price, or $80. What is his profit?

Teaching Math in 1970: A logger exchanges a set "L" of lumber for a set "M" of money. The cardinality of set "M" is 100. Each element is worth one dollar. Make 100 dots representing the elements of the set "M." The set "C", the cost of production, contains 20 fewer points than set "M." Represent the set "C" as a subset of set "M". Answer this question: What is the cardinality of the set "P" of profits?

Teaching Math in 1980:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80 and his profit is $20. Your assignment: Underline the number 20.

Teaching Math in 1990:

By cutting down beautiful forest trees, the logger makes $20. What do you think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the forest birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down the trees? There are no wrong answers.

Teaching Math in 2000:

A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $120. How does Arthur Andersen determine that his profit is $60?

Teaching Math in 2005:

El hachero vende un camion carga por $100. La cuesta de produccion es.............

The Ant and the Grasshopper

OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks he's a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks he's a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green."

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome."Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Tom Daschle &John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Peter Jennings that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his "fair share."

Finally, the EEOC drafts the "Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act," retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
