i haven't had any problem with FR. but the Tiger is up on a ledge somewhere unable to access it bc of the problem with the DNS thing whatever that is. i have been emailing him the suggestions from that thread, to no avail.

Tell him to edit his HOSTS file using a text editor (like wordpad).

The HOSTS file is located here on his (Windows) computer:
c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc

Once he opens the HOSTS file using Wordpad, he'll see the following line:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Add the following underneat that line:

209.157.64.200 www.freerepublic.com

Then save the HOSTS file as edited, and voila!
