There's a
thread on Gov. Hot Lips Wise's thinskinned reaction to the silly A&F T-shirt. Considering he and his Ruling Party have given the state a $120 million budget deficit, you'd think he'd have other things to worry about.
From the "blatherings of the young, stupid and marginally talented" file (NY Daily News):
Earnest actor Ethan Hawke hates puppet theater - and we don't mean "Avenue Q." The "Taking Lives" star is joining celebrity hecklers Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins in taking issue with President Bush's war on terrorism.
"We have a new definition of puppet," Uma Thurman's estranged spouse tells us. "I would love to see all of Bush's cabinet dismantled."
Hawke also wants to see campaign ads that don't exploit a national tragedy.
"It seems unnerving when somebody tries to use a tragedy for their own political gain," he rails, referring to Bush's controversial TV ads that incorporated images of 9/11.
"That tragedy belongs to all of America, regardless of party. I'm sure he's trying to draw attention to what he thinks was his finest moments of leadership, but I don't think he did anything remarkable as a leader during that period."

given the state a $120 million budget deficit, you'd think he'd have other things to worry about. Well, he's got to look like he's doing something besides spending money.
Just heard Michael Hurley (9/11 comm. hearing) say that the Taliban came to Washington (didn't hear date but was before '98) for a meeting and bin Laden was hardly mentioned. Talk was mostly about drugs and the treatment of Afgan women.
