a few weeks ago I asked & don't think anyone responded or maybe knew.. is this particular problem because dog's cannot digest/handle fat & that is why we are not to give table scraps (particularly meat/fatty stuff)...includes, meat, steak, french fries, pie crust etc...?

Several friends of mine over the years have had much dog/digestive problems.. so involving surgery & were always told then NO table scraps.. Oliver doesn't get much.. pizza crusts about all..

Why "The Passion" is rated 'R'

The "R" of course is because of the violence, the gore. In movie terms "R" stands for RESTRICTED, but in this movie "R" stands for
RELEVANT, for REALISTIC, for it REALLY happened for a REASON because we were REBELLIOUS we needed a REDEEMER, we needed to be RECONCILED, we needed to be RECOVERED, we needed to be REGENERATED. Jesus needed to be REJECTED so that we could have a RELATIONSHIP not just a RELIGION.

The "R" is to REMIND us to REMEMBER what Jesus did to REMOVE our sin to RENDER satan powerless, to RESCUE us from eternity in hell.

The "R" rating is to show that Jesus was RESPONSIBLE for giving you REST. As a RESULT of his death Jesus RETIRED your debt.

The "R" rating means that some will be REPULSED, some will REFUSE to believe, some will be RELUCTANT, some will think you are RIDICULOUS in believing that a death was REQUIRED.

The "R" rating means that the RESULT of sin has been REVERSED and now through faith in Christ your REWARD is eternity and you are now RIGHTEOUS before God because you have RECEIVED him as the RULER of your soul.

What a REVOLUTIONARY and RADICAL solution to REDEEM mankind.

Just heard halfbright reinventing "their" policy of dealing with bin laden. She said we were attacked by individuals, I guess we weren't attacked by the taliban group and Al Queda.

Dolly, those who are Repulsed and Refuse to believe are those, who will unfortunately never know the TRUTH. Boy 1, 2 frilends and I went to see the Passion of the Christ yesterday. Oh my.

The hearings are being played on C-SPAN.

And we all enjoy your posts ... nothing boring about them at all. Your sweet, giving, and caring nature comes through loud and clear ... and your determination and your patriotism and your goodness and your love for others and wanting only the best for them.

As for your m-i-l, I think that kind of selective penny-pinching goes with that generation. Not sure just how old she is but I know that my m-i-l lived through the depression ... and her family was quite poor anyway ... and she definitely has some 'eccentricities' about food costs.

Just keep your sense of humor about it. You're not going to change her at this point so just accept it and realize that it's not earth-shattering ... and try not to let her see you rolling your eyes and shaking your head ... *grins*. God bless you!

The universities are pretty much hopeless at this point but you can influence individuals and equip them with facts rather than the fiction they otherwise hear.

What a shame.. you would prolly get their attention by en mass indicating you intentions to put your "conservatism" along with the money at another school... a dozen students leaving - or whatever the size of the republican club - makes a difference & would get publicity.. the alumni would react.. they can't be all libs (can they?)

Sorry I'm so late responding ladies...

...it's been kinda crazy around here, and Monday definitely was not a good day....

..but last Friday went well when I took mom & dad to visit the assistant living home...

...mom thought it was a church....but I told her it was an apartment home...

..she thought it so pretty, she said (as we toured)..."Why don't you move your father and me here"...

...Isn't God good!

They let her play the piano....and she picked How Much is That Doggie In the Window...

..and the administrator who was giving the tour asked her how she knew that was her favorite song :))

...andyway, hopefully, when I move them in next Thursday, something will trigger in mom's memory that she has been here and likes it :)
