Reportedly, we're giving the 5th rounder to Baltimore and a player (probably Brandon Whiting) to San Fran. I wasn't on board with this at first, but in mulling it over, I'm in support of it. Owens isn't a bad guy like Randy Moss or David Boston. You can't question his desire and effort or his will to win.
He could be that go to guy that The Magnificent Number Five has needed to get him over the top.
Now if we can only shore up that CB position, I don't want to go into next year with Lito Shepard, Sheldon Brown and Roderick Hood as my trio of corners.
(BTW- While I agree this is breaking news, betcha the sidebar mod doesn't)

Maybe not a bad guy, but he's a classic me-first player who will freak out and blame everyone if he's got getting his 9 catches and 120 yards per game. I must say, though, that I do admire his willingness to go over the middle and take the big hits. That's something you'll never see out of Moss.

Owens isn't a bad guy like Randy Moss or David Boston No, he is a bad guy like Keshawn Johnson. He drops a lot of balls, whines when he feels he doesn't get enough balls thrown his way, is a step slow and talks too much.

Well, well, well, this should make for an interesting game when the Iggies meet the Ball'mer Raisins this season. Do you think that Ray Lewis is going to feel as though he was stabbed in the back by his erstwhile teammate? Oops, I guess that's a poor choice of analogies in this case. Maybe Mr. Lewis will feel as though Mr. Owens is fleeing the scene by stating that he would not be around to play in Ball'mer. Oops, there I go again. Perhaps I should say that Mr. Lewis will feel as though justice has been obstructed by Mr. Owens' refusal to abide by the original trade. I'm sorry, I guess that's another slanderous remark regarding the upstanding Mr. Lewis.
Ol' No. 5 had better not loft any floaters over the middle for Mr. Owens, lest the Iggies' prize offensive acquisition be laid low by one Mr. Raymond Lewis.

It's bad news. Now the Eagles have their own Allen Iverson.
