Hubby and I just bought the DVDs for the first season of Stargate (StarGate SG1) and it is GOOD!! It wobbles a bit on McGuyver-esque type stuff in the first few episodes, but all the characters quickly mature...and the actor who plays Daniel (the archaeologist, who was played by James Spader in the movies) has Spader down to a T! I was really impressed with how the actor took on some of the odder characteristics of Spader...whether Spader himself deliberately inserted thoser characteristics or if that was just natural to him, I dont know, but I was impressed!
I will ahve to put down my M&C books long enough to finish watching the shows...
Have only one DVD collection of Red Dwarf shows, though. Man I miss that show.
Is the TV series worth watching? Well, I have to admit it's one of my guilty pleasures. It's not terribly deep. I think the first few seasons were the best, when the characters were being developed pretty well.
