Well...not so good news on the kitty. They finished the surgery and she's OK...but the vet said it looked like a malignant adenocarcinoma (if I'm getting the name right), and though it tried to get everything, if that IS what it is, it may well come back...and it was right next to her lungs. They are sending a sample off, and I should hear more by early next week.

If it DOES prove to be cancerous...I guess all I can do is hope that it takes awhile to come back. If it does...if and when she ends up sick or in discomfort I'll be facing putting her down. Chemo is just not something I would go through with a cat, not for the pain and cost involved.

Sorry to hear it Rosie. That sounds like what my dog Facha had. But, here's the good thing. After her surgery, it didn't come back for almost 2 years - we didn't elect to the chemo either. We gave her benadryl and...oh, p-word.. what is it?? prednesone? Anyway, it turned her into a happy puppy again. She was 12 yrs. old. And had gotten really slow to move around. But she was happy and frivolous all over again. And, we had that time to spend with her, 2 whole years where every day with her counted. We didn't worry anymore about her diet and putting on weight or her learning bad habits like begging for food at table. We spoiled her rotten, we did. I spent a lot of time on the floor with her too, and she gained a seat on the sofa..that kind of thing. She had a happy last years. I guess if she had gone of a sudden occurrance, it would have been even much worse in a way.

Rosie, although the news could have been better, it's not all bad either in that tumor was excisable and kitty made it through surgery. That is good, Rosie, you did your part, we would be glad for that. Hoping Kitty heals quickly and is bouncing for many more years.
