Oh yeah....we had safety training videos the other day. They were rolling compressed gas cylinders. I think they need new safety videos.

Our safety guy is very gullible. People are always sending him things they get in the email... the kind of things that get debunked on snopes. So we have an Urban Legend Watch every time he issues an "alert".

It's really kinda scary.

I just got a copy of the concert we did on Wednesday. I'm going to listen to it later...but not really looking forward to it.

On the other hand, just MAYBE I wasn't QUITE as bad as I think I was. But I doubt it. I don't think anyone ever does a performance they're completely happy with, but that one was so bad I'm cringing when people meet me in the halls and congratulate me, 'cause I'm pretty sure they're just being nice rather than sincere. I hate it when that happens.

Wish we could do another gig this weekend or so...so's I could redeem myself.

So we have an Urban Legend Watch every time he issues an "alert".

For instance- his latest. We had an inspection last week and we got pinged for having mold on the seal of the fridge door in the break room. (it was up on the top and us short people didn't even think of scrubbing things we can't see).

Anyhoo. He said, "Mildew and fungus (sic). You've got to clean that up! It's a Legionaires'(sp) risk! You're all at risk with that there."

Uh, right. Legionaires' is caused by a bacterium.

Don't have a next gig lined up yet. Wish we did. Part of the trouble though is that some of us are more serious than others. I'd be happy with a gig a month or thereabouts, and nothing too serious...Bilbo wants to be part of the next Lunasa and though he's never said it, I think is very unimpressed with my abilities and the fact that I practice a couple hours a week instead of a couple a day. So...though I wish we could have our own band, I feel like things are starting to fall apart.

One of my cats hates whistles and anything else loud...Tam on the other hand LOVES Tuesday nights 'cause there are so many people to pet him and to just watch. He greets all the musicians as they come in (loudly and vigorously), and then retreats to a high shelf so he can watch. He's becoming the mascot. ;-) I think I need to write a tune called "Tam on the Top Shelf".

So far we haven't had anything flakey coming from our safety guy unless I'm just missing something.

Dunno how you feel about this but ....has Bilbo been looking to play with other bands? Sounds like he want's to be a full time musician.

He does. Not that he's made much effort to find a band - yet, anyway. But I guess I'm just feeling left behind. 'Cause I'm better than many of the other people we play with on Mondays, but don't have the talent to do music full time, to say the least. I think I'm good enough to play small time gigs, which is all I want...but I don't have a small time band to play with, for the most part. *snif* I can get better, but I'm never going to be a pro.
