Conservative-friendly State?
self

Posted on 03/12/2004 6:36:09 AM PST by a.c.t.32

Hello all. I hope this post is in the right place.

My husband and I are looking at a move possibly in the next year. I am wondering what states you all might consider to be the most "conservative-friendly" in terms of taxes, educational institutions and laws, general demographics, etc. Does this make sense?

In Michigan, we seem to have relatively high taxes, numerous governmental "fees" (which they try to tell you are not the same as taxes), educational waste, and frivilous (sp?) laws aimed at behavior-modification.

It is relatively easy to homeschool here, though.

I'm curious to hear your opinions.

Thanks.

Many liberals live in the State of Denial so you better not move there.

That's interesting. Thanks. And as a New Yorker, it's very tempting.

This is a surprise? W/o really knowing that much, I'd say just about anything truly mid-West - literally toward the middle of the country - in every direction! (Not surprised NM and AZ - near the border - are more Dem.)

It sure as hell ain't MD to which you'll be moving! :o

I never understood quite why NH would be chosen. Even tho it claims to be a conservative stronghold, it's surrounded by libs and infiltrated frequently by MAers who want their cake and to eat it too (you know, things like insist we need taxes for those programs, but don't want to pay them themselves....). I understand it's supposed to be conserv and it's small so it wouldn't be too hard to populate, but still....seems safer to me to move to Idaho which already has a solid backbone..... ?:)
