Violation of a synagogue is repugnant.

Once the perps are captured, I'll have several questions:

1. What is their religious affiliation?
2. Have they been consumers of anti-Semitic literature?
3. Have they ever committed anti-Semitic acts before?
4. Did they see the film, "The Passion of the Christ?"
5. Were they aware of fears that the film would inspire anti-Semitism?

It is a measure of the medias' hypocrisy, bias, and general depravity that an unsupported claim from presumably anonymous callers would be treated as newsworthy. Have they considered the possbility that the callers were themselves the perps, perhaps media-savvy left-wing RoP dhimmis trying to fan the flames of division, as their lapdog kapos in Hollywood and the ADL have managed to do?

I don't usually speculate about the identity of perpetrators but the odds are very high that they are multicult-inspired teen-age dhimmi-conformists acting out their stupid adolescent version of solidarity with "oppressed" Muslims. (BTW, ADL doesn't give a lot of publicity to this compilation, just possibly because it reflects very badly on peacenik liberal Israel-bashers.)

My gut tells me this thing was staged. By whom? I don't know. But with all the intense criticism of the movie, the resentment about its success and its critics clamoring to show evidence of antisemitism, it would be awfully easy and tempting for someone to desecrate a synagogue just to tarnish the movie.

According to the ADL there were 1500 anti-Semitic incidents in the country in 2002. That works out to about 30 per week (4 per day). So far "The Passion of the Christ" has been for 11 days. That means we should have seen 44 anti-Semitic incidents since the film came out. So far I've only heard of two--the brain-dead minister in the midwest who posted the "Jews killed Christ" sign and today's vandalizing of a synagogue. Given that there would normally be 44 incidents in any 11 day period anyway, it's hard to pin this synagogue incident on "The Passion of the Christ." In fact, when one considers the lack of reported incidents, it might very well be that Mel's movie has made the anti-Semitic incident rate go down, not up.

ADL counted 531 reports of anti-Semitic vandalism in 2002, a four percent (4%) decrease from 2001 and marking a 20-year low. Over the past three years, the number of vandalism incidents reported annually to ADL has declined by 27 percent.

-In Oakland, California, a synagogue sustained thousands of dollars in damage in an arson incident.

But how can this be? 531 incidents of anti-Semitic vandalism? Why, The Passion of The Christ hadn't even been released yet! There must be some mistake. I mean, everybody knows that synagogue vandalism is caused by Mel Gibson's movie.

For almost 9 years I have lived half a block from a synagogue. It has never been vandalized. If it were it would be the same bunch of idiots who have twice broken my car windows and those of many of my neighgors or the same bunch of idiots who carved their names into newly poured concrete or the same idiots who shoplift from the local stores or the same idiots who hang out in abandoned lots in the town and get drunk. Namely bored obnoxious teens who have no supervision at home and no self respect. At this point in their young lives they have no religion.
