Thanks freedom. What I love about this board is all the learning. I think we get a better education on this board than most universities.

The quotation "Neither rain, nor snow, nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" is attributed to Herodotus, describing the Persian "postal" system.

There are ancient references to the "Laws of the Medes and Persians." There may even be a biblical reference.
