...because liberals think that RIGHTS are debatable, negotiable, removable. "Legalist" doesn't show up in my dictionary; but "legalism" does - "strict adherence to law." Liberals do not promote "strict adherence to law." In fact, they are offended by law - they are offended by the literal meaning of the actual, written words of the Constitution, and the laws "made in pursuance thereof." They prefer emotional expediency to law, which is why they always claim their unlawful, totalitarian acts are committed "for the children"...
IMHO, the Constitution (and 'the rule of law') has been a blessing to this nation - liberals have not.
