Think of how it was for the men held in tiger cages in Hanoi when the sadistic guards told them of Kerry's perfidy. I would imagine that their torture was redoubled in a effort to secure more anti-American testimony.

Kerry sat fat and fed telling of hearsay atrocities while much better men than he suffered agony rather than betrays their brothers and country.

Can't say I agree with you on No. 2 — if this National Guard business is any indication, the Dems will pull out every dirty trick in the book against Bush this year, and the anti-Bush dirt is almost guaranteed to get more media play than Kerry's alleged mistress or his antiwar protesting. Kerry's far from perfect, but I wouldn't count the Democrats out.
