Evidently the earth is central to training those to rule and reign with Christ based on a currency of sacrificial Love and servant-hearted humility.

That's a perfectly logical reason for ET's to be keenly observing earth and that process.

Sure, God has chosen this earth as the focus of the greatest dramas in all creation of all history. ALL CREATION GROANS WAITING EAGERLY AND EXPECTANTLY FOR THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SONS OF GOD.

ALL CREATION tainted by sin and death is eagerly looking forward to the manifestation of liberation by Christ's RESURRECTION LIFE and the management of the resulting SONS OF GOD BOUGHT WITH CHRIST'S BLOOD, RULING AND REIGNING IN LOVE WITH CHRIST.

Sounds like quite a plan, to me.
