Well . . . I suppose if you want to read it like that, you can. The simplest, easiest, and most consistant with scripture interpretation of the "sons of God" as it realtes to the "daughters of men" is as I described before. The human race was contaiminated by false doctrines and unbelief, not some sort of strange "offspring". Only 8 were saved because only eight still had faith in the promises of God. We have always been saved by faith, and so were Noah and his family.

Strictly, the Nefilim are not the half-offspring, but the descending gods themselves! Nefilim means "descenders, those who came down."

I am not LDS, but "Nephi," a Mormon prophet, is a name meaning literally "from above," etc.

Noah himself had a "god" for a father, so the contamination was not a matter of ancestry, but of sin and character. By contrast, his mother is called Bat-enosh, literally just "daughter of the Earthling," "earthling-woman."
