I would assume any life-form capable of making the trip to Earth would be a rational being, and as such should understand our response to its arrival. We take no chances with unregulated food imports, it would be unthinkable to let a creature from another planet, a product of a completely different evolutionary path and with potentially billions of stow-away viruses just do as it pleases. ET will just have to understand.

Somehow, they seem to be able to insert implants through our noses into our brains without infection resulting.
They seem to have the whole microbe, virus thing understood rather well compared to us.
And, they do what they wish . . . more or less regardless of our wishes, it seems--even regardless of their signed agreements with us.
