Oooooooh! I love the Westminster dog show!

My sweetie always makes fun of me, because every single breed that they show, I'm like, "Oh! I love that dog! What a great dog!"

The best breed Cairn Terrier, without them there would have been no "Wizard of Oz".

Mixed breeds are great, we had a fantastic one when I was a kid. My kids wanted a German Shepherd, so we did the puppy thing 7 years ago. Then, one day, I was looking for a dog for my mom, stopped at the shelter, and there was Vicki. An 8 year old purebred German Shepherd show dog, she has all the bells and whistles, tattoo, microchip, paper ... Who adopts an 8 year old dog with 'behavior' problems? Well, she adopted me. We're her 4th home, and with a little work, she's been a wonderful addition to our home. She's 11 now, and has arthritis and epilepsy.

I think adoptees are the ones who make great dogs...they are grateful for the home we give them and forever show us their love.

I love to watch Westminster. So does the dog critter. She gets very wound up at seeing all of those other dogs inside 'her' house. She creates quite a commotion as I try to watch:)

Of course she does the same thing for nearly any show on Animal planet!

Mine too! It usually takes until the second night until she calms down enough for me to hear the commentary. But it's still one of my favorite events to watch on TV.

And loads better than the Grammy's! LOL

Yep. One of my dogs (my border collie, Fergus - best dog ever) is a rescue pup, and the other (my basset hound, Chloe - psycho dog from hell, but we love her) is one that I adopted after my sister found that she was too much to handle in a small home with little kids. We love them both, and they are crazy about us.

They are great dogs, and it made me feel good to do a good deed for them.
