I cancelled AOL for the first time in June, 2003. It took forever, because you have to call them on the phone, and they don't answer the phone. They sent me a nice letter with a cancellation number.
Unfortunately, they kept billing my credit card.
I appealed the charge, and in October, 2003 they sent me another cancellation letter with a NEW cancellation number.
Of course, they kept billing the card.
So I asked Amex to open a fraud investigation, and the billing stopped, or so it seemed.
This month, for the first time, a charge for AOL service appeared on ANOTHER credit card of mine, one which was never used for AOL service.
I have been calling and calling, but now, they REALLY never answer the phone.
Has anyone found a method to permanently stop AOL from billing fraudulent charges to creditcards without authorization?
