Well, after last night's torture of the animated "LOTR", I will be looking forward to a this afternoon. I am sending LOTR back this morning, so all who just love this DVD can rent it! LoL
I saw it in the theater, out of desperation. I figured it would have to be animated, since there was no movie technology, or Hollywood budget, to do it justice. I was so traumatized by it, I've blocked everything out except for the "where there's a whp" song.
Actually, I do remember being highly offended by the portrayal of Sam as a retarded Buddy Hackett. But there is no way I'd own this DVD as part of a LOTR "collection". It was just too awful to contemplate.
I left the theater despairing that the story could ever be done right. Which made my first viewing of PJ's FOTR so thrilling in its first few minutes,
