The only bad thing about ours is that she's so ambitious and active that it's tiring to talk to her for long!

Ours is *really* a spendthrift but not toward paying employees. He began with a redecoration of our student union building for 150K. When it was over with I couldn't tell any difference. Granted, I'm not working at that campus and only saw it once before the re-do, but I didn't see any different. Older employees didn't see anything much either.

When he and his wife moved into their school furnished home the wife was not happy because there were no large trees in the back yard. She had it approved for the college to pop 2 grand for a mature oak tree. Then, a contractor was paid to dig a hole in the backyard for the tree at $700. The biggest problem with that was that she didn't like it where it was the 1st time, or the 2nd time, or the 3rd time or the 4th time. And the 5th time she had them re-locate the tree, it was right back into the first spot. Each digging of the hole was $700.

Okay, so that's small change in the scheme of the college budget. But, I had to go to an outside source to get plotters for my classroom - and didn't get them till the 2nd year I worked here. Cost for one plotter coulda been paid for by the tree holes but we didn't have money in the college budget for 'em. I actually taught the whole first year I was here without the students getting to plot their drawings at all!

These are only examples of the spendiness of our pres. And what rankles me most is that it is *all* taxpayers money!
