I'm of the opinion that if you own a dog, you owe it to him to 'take care' of things yourself... go to the vet if you have to but it's your dirty work.

The dog is isn't sick. He's normal. He needs a home with someone who is willing to do the minimum for a dog. Every dog given no boundaries would kill chickens or find other mischief, which is why responsible and caring people build a fence or provide at least a little training. I can understand shooting a dog that is a threat and too dangerous to get near. But this dog is neither. If "Junior" is not going to do right by him, I would have taken him to a shelter where he has hopes for a better life.

This is really upsetting and I hope I don't hear more about it.

For what its worth, I agree. Which is why it's gonna be a long time before I have another dog, most likely. I'd want to be sure they had a run or a fence, and that I'd have time to train them.

well, talked Junior into taking him to the Humane Society... the HS didn't want to take him, but when Junior said the alternative was to shoot him, they took him...

so the mornin' ain't completely shot...
