I didn't think it was a perfect book, but for the most part really enjoyed it. Except that it's a hard one to put down...she does a good job of keeping you guessing and wanting to see what bit of the mystery she'll reveal next. And jumping from time to time keeps things moving.I like the fact that she's done her background research in Old English as well as in medicine and time travel--very thorough job on the science side of the SF. I like it so far, but I'm not ready to join Jen in putting it above LotR yet--of course I think LotR is the best fiction book in the world, so it's a high bar to clear :)

Was going to tell you guys...when I was looking for books on tape, I found that they have Beowulf in Old English. Not something I'd wanna try to run while listening to, but I've GOT to get that out sometime!
