I've had 2 wolves. A long time ago - a male and then the female. I bred 'em... they were hybrids actually. The male I had was 3/4 wolf, 1/4 shepherd. The female was 7/8 wolf 1/8 shepherd. I got the first from a friend who thought I needed protection because 2 murdered bodies were found in my neighborhood in Austin within 3 weeks. The female I was given to me by a couple who didn't know what she was when they got her and were in terrible fear of her when they discovered she was wolf.
Mine were well behaved - but because they got an incredible amount of attention and thought they were "one of us." Nothing would have *ever* happened to either of my kids while I had them. And it would have been interesting to see someone who'd tried anything. But, they are very territorial and know who "their" pack is. Outsiders are not easily welcomed. It was interesting to date when I had wolves. They didn't typically like anyone coming to pick me up! :-)

I got the first from a friend who thought I needed protectionThat's some protection, alright! :) Pretty cool. BTW raising wolves isn't something just anybody can do, I imagine--do you have a background handling wild animals that you felt comfortable taking them on?
