I like hearin' 2 or 3 coyotes singin' in the night though. Very homey sound! :-)
Things would get interestin' in my house though when I had a female wolf and she heard them. She slept with me and she'd hear the coyotes far off when I was asleep and suddenly, I would be immediately awakened by her responding voice! Loud! No alarm clock could compare!

No alarm clock could compare!I haven't heard them yet, but people down the road a few miles have reported hearing wolves howl. Two have been shot in the area recently--didn't have many reports of them before this, they seem to be multiplying since some were set loose a number of years ago.
BTW, how'd you get the female wolf? I had a teacher in high school who had a male one with the permission of the DNR, which I think he said he'd rescued from a trap and nursed back to health or something like that. He said it acted friendly with him but wild towards anyone else.
