I am surprised I have not ever seen a raccoon here, seems like a good spot for them, and they could make mischief in the barn. Gidget might make them wary, but not very wary!
I have a daily regular coyote in the back forty... When the snow was here I could see new tracks every day, and even last week there was coyote poo in the witch's circle (not gidget poo, was a different color and full of hair). But he isn't a problem as long as he is just eating bunnies. And he really can't get in to the yard now from the woods with the new fence, so I worry even less. There are enough bunnies here in spring to feed a few varmits.

You know the other thing I haven't seen or smelled in ages? - A skunk. Seemed pretty common to smell or see them in the road when we were kids around here.

Coyotes one at a time aren't much of a problem... it's when there's twenty or thirty of 'em all howling around that things get a little wierd.
Times like that a box of left over fireworks might be handy. :-)
