**Thomas Jefferson used to sleep at night sitting up, did you know?**

Wonder why?

Lots of people do, but usually for a reason. I've taken care of lots of people...all smokers...that couldn't breath unless that sat bolt upright to sleep.

I took care of a guy that had such bad emphysema that he sat straight up and laid his head down on a tray table in front of him...with it WAY up. He died that way, sitting straight up.

Afterward, I went in and straightened his room, cleaned it all out of all the IV poles and such, laid him down in the bed, combed his hair, and made his bed look really nice and smooth while the family waited in the hall. When they came in, the daughter just gasped, then burst into tears...threw her arms around my neck! Said she couldn't remember the last time he laid flat down and that it was the most peaceful she'd ever seen him!

Left a major impression on me, I can tell ya.
