And my sis came up with Jashpa the Ballygagger..*snort* Now that one sounds like a D&D character! :)
To: Fedora
She comes up with other odd names, for bands and such.
"Flesh Fiending Florists"
"My Druid"
Puddle Jumping Squatters
Pinchy Mad Mouse
Bleeding Onions
Madman Molly
Tea Leaf Sweater
The Invasion Of Norman D.

Good sense of words, there! She could sub for Dave Barry, with those band names.

And she shrugs and goes back to writing her poetry!

Oh well. I don't believe poetry is financially rewarding, but if she likes it...

Well, she didn't inherit any of the art talent ,so she says.
(She can do abstract quite well.. she says it isn't art)
But she DOES have a flair for poetry.

One of my sisters has a weird artistic talent - she can draw! The rest of us are lucky to do stick figures. I'm the only writer, but my brothers are all kind of young to have artistic interests, I guess.

She's got enough band names there for a whole imaginary record label! :)
To: JenB
*chuckle*
Well, in my family it is somewat figured that drawing is a sign of mental instability.
I, of course, have no room to speak of this.

I think any creative expression is a sign of instability. Heh... I find it relaxing to torture imaginary people.
Speaking of which, I have to go work on getting my story to the point that I can put my characters through hell.

LOL!
Yeah, that's what it boils down to.
Of course, once you get to know your own characters, you fear what they go through, and you go through their experiences with them.
*chuckle*
Good luck.

Yep! I only make miserable those whom I love.
It is a bit odd how attached I get to some of my characters, like they were pets or friends or something. But I don't hesitate to make them miserable. Even if it's painful. "They lived happily ever after" is the end, not the story.

Hmmm--maybe if she could find one of these:
Fashion Plates
This was an "artsy" toy from the eighties. By using several thin plates (which you aligned on a board and colored/traced over with colored pencils) you could create an woman with interchangable fashionable outfits.
Go to Hasbro Game and Toy Instructions and if you scroll down there's some .pdf files showing how they're designed--would be pretty easy to duplicate if they're not still selling them, though I think used ones can be found online. Another variation on that which is currently in production is:
Hello Kitty Fashion Tracing Plates
Then Crayola's got these:
Crayola Fashion Light Up Tracing Desk

Well, in some of my short stories, evil wins and the good guy dies.
*Horrible*
But usually I write a happy ending.
