A bit of old town "culture". Low style culture, but nonetheless.

And - uh - you were expectin' me to be one of them high culture elves - weren't ya? LOL

Sounds like a good plan for all then! Ya'll gonna figure out when we're gonna do this and just let us know when we get there?

Looks like our #2 is seriesly considering UT Austin for Grad school! He'll be down there the last weekend in March to check the place out. He's going over to UMass Amherst this Friday. They've offerend him a great financial package, so he's waiting to see what UT's gonna come up with. I think they'll give him that info when he comes for the visit.

He didn't want to have to fool with a car; is there public transportation, or could he get around for the most part on a bike?

When I went to school there (okay it was in the dark ages) I just used public transportation because there is so little parking available around campus.

They're trying to create a societal revolution by force of will. This isn't an election issue...they have crossed the Rubicon, and the left has gone with them.

That's what scares me. "Gay marriage" will go a long way to further wrecking society, but it's the judicial activism and "magical thinking" that will be used as a weapon for more attacks on society, coming soon. The left feels they now have the magic words that will give them complete control to remake America, regardless of what the Constitution says.

We saw the klintons use the FL supreme court to order after-the-fact changes to the election laws, when there wasn't even a legal leg to stand on. Last year, the USSC gave us "compelling government interest" and "considerations of international laws" as factors that outweigh the words of the Constitution.

Now the same people that despise the Constitution are using the magic words, "full faith and credit" to allow a renegade state supreme court to encourage minor county officials to create new laws, and then expect them to be observed nationwide under "full faith and credit". Yet if the good guys try to put a stop to this before it reache bloodshed, they're slimed when constitutional ammendments are proposed.

I'm expecting some state supreme court to shortly decide that their state constitution does not allow for RKBA. That means all the state gun control laws, no matter how restrictive, are dead, because all the guns must be turned in immediately. And under "full faith and credit", the rest of the country must obey, too.

My great fear during the 2000 ballot "revote" in Florida was the klintons would have successfully stolen the election for Algore, their stooge. I was sick at heart considering how a civil war would affect me. Now this leering attempt to usurp power by flawed judicial thinking tells me that civil war is again not unthinkable.

Well... I don't wanna think.

I just got my clothes ready for tomorrow. Got a meeting with people for whom I have to wear a business suit. I already feel all itchy. Nasty.

I think that the Gay Lobby will find that this was their own "bridge too far". I think there may be a backlash that may set them back some years.

Breaks my widdol' heart. :-)

No, it is not unthinkable. I think our memories aren't long enough. But, this time the lines aren't quite drawn so geographically. Would be much much worse. And none in the south 140 years ago would have thought it could be worse.

You know, we can hope for that backlash. But, I would've thought we'd have seen more evidence of it in the last weeks. It disturbs me how many people are jumping on this bandwagon - and the lack of public reaction against it.
