Good morning! Ugh, I didn't sleep. I'm about to head to work, I'll be back this evening. And I will exercise. I will.

And there were more tasteful dresses than bad. More gracious winners than idiots. Billy Crystal lampooned everyone, equally. It was a pretty decent show.

See you later

I've got a five year old curled up on my lap demanding food. I'll be back later.

Congrats, ROTK!

Now when do we get the DVD???

Good morning! Wow...we won everything we were nominated for! Is that a record? Pretty incredible!

Speaking of incredible, I went to see The Passion last night. It affected me...but I really need to see it again in a few days to take it in. I wasn't prepared for some things (especially the fall and death of Judas), and by the middle of the movie I was completely overwhelmed.

I couldn't sleep well last night. Kept having really freaky dreams and half waking up...then I'd think about His face, what He did for me, and I'd fall asleep again. But one time I woke up completely...and started thinking that it was probably close to the time when Judas came for him. If the passion was 12 hours long, it would have been about three in the morning. Looked at my watch and it was EXACTLY three. Kinda spooky! I actually got out of bed and got down on my knees for a few minutes.

I still had questions about some of the things in the movie - the way things were done, the interpretation of some characters...but on the whole it was incredible.

I have a question...why did Mary do what she did after the scourging...Mary Magdelene helped her. (Being vague on purpose). Remember? She got down on her knees and did something I thought had to have a significance that I don't know about...

You can freepmail me to keep the thread spoiler-free...

I don't know either. We discussed that afterwards and no one knew what the significance was. Maybe just a sign of respect, knowing who He was? Possibly something family historically were allowed to do?

That's kinda what I thought, thinking more of a Jewish tradition, but then my mom said she thought the items used might be some sort of historical or traditional icons in the Catholic church.

Knowing very little other than the very basics of both faiths, I just don't know...

I keep having scenes flash into my mind...

Is that the one with the cup?

I remember going into a chapel at the hospital where I used to work here in Tulsa...the nuns ran the hospital and lived right there on site. Anyway, there was nobody in there, so I sneaked in and had a look-see! (I didn't know if I was allowed or not...they had a regular hospital chapel.) Anyways, they had artistic representations of the stations of the cross all along the walls and there was a picture of Veronica...stuck out to me because I'd never heard of her and as I stood looking at the picture, one of the sisters came in and startled me pretty badly. (Remember, I didn't know if I was allowed in there!)

Anyway, she didn't seem to mind me being there...

It is a record for the biggest clean sweep. There have been a couple films that went 9-for-9, but I don't remember which ones.

Very cool!

Still think it shoulda gotten a couple more nominations (primarily Supporting Actor), but I guess I can't complain toooo much.

What a night, eh? I'm still basking in the glow of their victory...wow.

I honestly didn't trust the Academy to give them their due, but what an exciting night as each award was announced. I felt a little sorry for the other folks, because they really didn't stand a chance this year.

I suppose they will all be all over the morning news shows and evening entertainment shows. That will be fun as well.

What a terrific group of people, and how nice was it to see the non-Hollywood types get the accolades this time!

I leaned over to my mom and whispered that I thought it was Veronica...

The situation in the hospital chapel was several years ago, so I'm pretty pleased I remembered!
