I'd rather be welcomed to the end of football off-season, but thanks, Miss Hair.

Today is show and tell at Joshua's school. I gave him a fruit jar to take with him...with a Polyphemus moth cocoon in it! Printed up this page to take with it. He's going to give it to his teacher to keep.

These caterpillars are HUGH...bright green! They make these very tough fibrous cocoons. Well, we had one of the caterpillers climbing up our front door so I fetched a jar and put it in the jar where it promptly made a cocoon!

When it comes out of the cocoon (if it does...I hope it does!) the resulting moth is GIGANTIC! Up to five inches across. Very pretty.

The little circles are like glass windows...you can see through them.

I feel horrible...taking an Alka Seltzer.

Yeah...and just crummy feeling.

I couldn't sleep at all in the night. My head was aching, I was freezing. I must have been tossing and turning a lot because Steve got up and hit the couch. :-)

Anyway, Joshua had a coughing spell and got up and made his way into my room, laid down with me and leaned his head up against mine. His head was so warm and it felt so nice up against my head that I finally got to sleep!

For those of you making plans, there is a slight chance the date of wedding moot will change.

I am thinking it through.... there are a couple issues around the 4th of July weekend..... My dad remembered that our only neighbor at the beach house usually also has a big party that weekend. It wouldn't preclude us from doing it then, but it would change the environment at the beach. We wouldn't be alone.

The wrinkle is that the weekend prior, and the weekend after the 4th don't have good tides, have to look another week out to either June 19-20 (and we still get frequent rain in June) or July 17-18.

My inner voice is telling me that the 3rd feels right. But I would worry about the horses at home with fireworks too... Might be best to board them out for a few days, which is doable. I need to decide this soon but I am waffling a bit between those three dates.

The airport though, is SEA-TAC.

But at least that means you've told him. Right?

The mini-drama part was that I sent him TWO emails.... a long letter ( 17,964 ) that told him and explained everything! The first I sent to a wrong address.... the second attempt appears to have been lost in the ethernet. I sent it, and heard NOTHING back! eeek!

After 24 hours waiting.... I called again.... "uh dad.... did you get my email this time?" "Yeah, that was funny" he says. "hmm.... oh. Not the funny joke email... the letter. Did you get a letter/announcement/thing?" "No". Eeeek. SO I just told him. He is very happy for me and likes ecurbh a lot. He hopes our money troubles end soon so that doesn't wreck a good thing. He even said he wished my Mom could have been at this wedding. Was good!
