Sonnet #16: Red Sky at Night

The flush of early-evening heat recalls
A fevered dream... Across the lawn, the bands
Of shadows deepen. Only where we stand,
Hid by the cool and mossy garden wall,
Do the last dusty rays of sunlight fall.
I press your fingers in my trembling hand,
Dazed and exalted by your closeness, and
Kiss you in anguished ecstasy. For all
Your charming wickedness and insolence,
There lingers pathos in the urgency
Of quickened pulse and heightened, swooning sense.
Only the young, as restless as the sea,
Are privileged to passions so intense,
That flare, consume—and die as brilliantly.

Good morning Sam!

Hope all is well with you.

"Red Sky at Night" interesting Sonnet. Lovely graphic as usual.

Great song picks today, "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavor", a real blast from the past!

LOL Love it.

I wrote this yesterday then got caught up in customer problems and forgot to post it.

Happy Birthday

I liked you in the movies,
All made so long ago.
On TV in my youthful years,
You'd host that western show.
Later on I'd catch your talks,
On late night radio.
Your great talks on the U S A,
Helped keep me in the know.
Then when you ran for President,
I was the first in line.
I cast my vote and felt so good,
My vote I knew was fine.
You led us through some tough times,
With such class through it all.
You stood and faced the Soviets,
That caused the wall to fall.
So Happy Birthday to you Ron,
You're still high on my chart.
I pray for you and Nancy too,
You both have won my heart.
