If Wishes Were Fishes



If I had any wish
That could come true
I'd wish for one more night
Of holding only you.

If I had one desire
That could be granted
I'd leave you breathless
Somewhat enchanted.

If I could have one gift
From you to me
I would ask you to
Give of yourself freely.

But, I'm not a child
Wishing on stars brightly
Hoping for what you can give me
Holding me in your arms tightly.

I've heard this once
If wishes were fishes
Then everyone would swim
But my desires are wishes.

I don't think wishes come true.
