Rush took pain killers to the point of addiction. The addiction then took Rush. In time, the addiction would have taken his marriage, his relationships, livelihood and his life. My compassion is out for anyone addicted to drugs, regardless of their political stripe. Let us see what you have to say, when addiction takes someone close to you.

Gut check -- would we really feel the same if "Clinton" and "cocaine" were substituted for "Rush" and "pain killers" in your paragraph?

I don't think overdependence on and overuse of PRESCRIPTION pain pills, first prescribed for a TRUE MEDICAL CHRONIC BACK PAIN case compared to The Bent Rapist who USED cocaine for no good reason at all! Illegal drug addition is not the same as legal drug addiction~ Ask any doctor who has to prescribe pain meds. while weighing the risk of addiction to said drugs.

I feel that it's necessary to point out that Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer and a radio personality.

Bill Clinton was first the chief executive of Arkansas, then the chief executive of the United States. You know, the guy who's in charge of executing the laws.

Last time I checked, Rush Limbaugh wasn't appointing federal judges or U.S. attorneys, and signing laws that make stuff we do illegal.

Bad analogy. Rush made ONE mistake, Clinton's whole existence is a mistake.

Reality check ... both were outed for their addictions, Rush to pain meds, Toon to sex. One person faced up to reality and sought treatment, made his mea culpa speech, and is squaring away. The other chose to lie, obsfucate, tear down the REAL victims that existed in HIS case. One bent [no pun intended] every rule and law possible and obstructed justice; the other person simply wants existing laws regarding privacy to be followed and have an accurate hearing of the truth in the courts, not the press.

Gee, which one is which? Enough of a gut check for you?

Good and fair question. For Billy boy, my answer would NOT be the same. While that my sound hypocritical, I do believe it is consistent. Billy boy did not and does not care about you or me-or anybody but himself. I believe he is a five star sociopath that belongs behind bars, without respect to his political affiliation. I also believe that the ex-boy-president is incurable in his socialpathy, short of a true miracle.

So, if Clinton had an addiction and checked into a clinic, I still want him behind bars. I do not wish addiction on him. As much pain as he has personally or otherwise visited on others, I would have next to no sympathy for him.

I would have a lot more sympathy for the likes of Ted Kennedy. But let's say it was Jimmy Carter. I certainly would have sympathy for the man. While I am politically opposed to just about all that Carter has stood for and I think he is rather bumbling, I do believe that Carter was a decent man.

Better yet, let us take this discussion to its logical absurdity. Would I have any sympathy for Ted Bundy, the serial killer, if he had a substance abuse problem. Nah! Last, Rush is on OUR side. Why flush him down the commode of history?
