#1 I don't find it difficult to consider the possibility that humankind has evolved from more primitive forms over a period of time which I cannot begin to fathom. I started out as a couple of cells living in a watery saline environment. I later developed into a quite primitive, almost fish-like creature with a tail and gill slits. I find it difficult to believe that I was ever such a creature, or that I have undergone such a transformation. But it's true. It seems to me that only the time frame is different between gestation and evolution.
#2 Why must the universe be viewed as lacking divinity if it started with "the big bang" , or if it has developed through evolution over enormous periods of time? I don't see how one precludes the other. I do not see evolution, or current scientific ideas as "Godless". Quite the contrary. Just because scientists do not present the idea of "God" in their explorations, doesn't mean God isn't there, or that they don't believe "he" is.
Thank you

The reason evolution is not an acceptable if you are a Christian is because you must call Jesus a liar and God's Word untrue. The bible has many references to creation, none of which refer to evolution. Also, evolutionists do not believe we are anything but animals. The bible clearly states we are made in the image of God with a spirit. Here are just a few verses but there are many throughout the bible:
Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Hebrews 3:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds
were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
I Corithians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Matthew 19:4 (This is a direct quote from Jesus) And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
