Thank you JM...That's about what I figured (but didn't trust after 25 years of memory dust) with the 10 megaton but many here on the east coast like myself could be in radiation overlap areas depending upon weather patterns. If we get a noreaster coming up the Atlantic on top of something like this the founding 13 colonies will be mostly toast.(How's that for erasing history?) And many homes have basements here that aren't completely underground because they're built into foothills and rolling mountains.
What's your take on this Russian exercise? You have a level head. Are we all over reacting? What aspect in this would be the red flag to head for the hills?

I may have read some of those articles, but if you want to post the links I'll take a look.

Roy Masters is still on the radio, you will find him around 10:00 PM.
35 years ago, I fought my son, to keep him from having the man on the radio while he slept.
Roy Masters is still an expert on Brain Washing, that is what his program is.
I don't like him, but have no doubt that his book is worth reading.
Brainwashing is easy, in a book called "Charm School", about our Nam/POW's being used in Russia to train Russian Spies, there is a scene that has the POW telling the spies that "Aces and Nines AHH the "Dead Man's Hand".
Aces and eights are what are called the dead mans hand in poker games. I laugh at the fact that it so firmly planted in my mind, that I will sit here and tell the computer "Dead Man's Hand" when it comes up.

There was an explosion the other day right near the home of a woman who had just published a book exposing some of Putin's dirty laundry. She felt it was meant for her.

In vet school you get innoculated for all sorts of things including rabies. Those Docs have all the species disorders and illnesses to contend with in their studies. She probably hawked the vaccine for some animal pox but I wonder if she could lose her license for doing that.

ROFLOL. While that is real interesting, (cough), I had more in mind the sort of posts that threaten to knock our heads right off our body, type thingie. :)

Liz, doesn't the Bible speak of a Russian/Arab confederation, toward the end time? I don't want to spin this topic off or anything, but thought I recalled that. Probably shouldn't even ask this here, take it to the religious corner.

"Look, what do the Russians have to gain by nuking us? Nothing at all. Heck, the Chinese need our money just as much as the Russians do, and neither is looking to kill that golden goose"
What they have wanted since the beginning of time. If you don't know the answer to THAT question, perhaps you should do some reading.
"Also, if Al Q really was a proxy for Russia, then don't you think that it would be terribly easy for them to allow their operatives to waltz into one of the local Russian missle silos or weapons plants and borrow a warhead or nuclear material?"
You do have a rather simple way of looking at things. The answers are, IMHO, No and No.
Once again your wordsmithing is something to be admired. In just a few short sentences you manage to claim you are smarter than anyone here without the first hint of facts to back up your assertions, and manage to insult everyone here. What's your point?
Oh, and by the way, which country's nuclear stance is to not launch the first hit, and which country maintains their first-strike position, according to an agreement by both countries? And, who, of these two countries has been in disarmament mode for the last 8-10 years?

I suspected Master must have been a $$slickster$$ from the little I did see of his website (did a search later )... still the book is good and the info is not his...he just profited from it. I think I posted a link (copy & paste) to the info in a follow up post.

>>Just heard a blugrass rendition of the darkside of the moon...can it get any more bizarre
OK, here's a couple.
Tiny Tim and Brave Combo doing a swing jazzy "Stairway to Heaven" and a chacha "Hey Jude".
Another greatweirdie - Tom Jones and the Chieftains doing "Tennessee Waltz"

Perhaps it was a retaliatory attack for the SuperBowl half time offensive.

Agreed!!!
Don't trust the Russians, Arabs or the Chinese.

If you asked my 84 year old father's opinion, you would swear that you were talking to SOL. I hate to disagree with either of them on this issue, but I just can't see the advantage of Russia going to war with US at this time. Too much to lose and not enough immediate gradification. Makes for nice reading, however, and the speculation on this thread is far better than anything Clancy has written of late.

My take on the Russian exercises is one of caution.
I dont trust the Russians, and probably never will, based on my own experiences during the Cold War. Old animous dies hard.
I am wary of them exercising strategic forces at this time of the year, and I am especially wary of them having Putin in the Command Center during the exercises. You can conduct strategic exercises in a number of ways without the actual deployment of forces that seem to be happening.
I see a total deployment of strategic assets on their part, coupled with C3 ( command, control, communication) and the highest levels of government involvement ( President Putin). Complete recipe for a first strike. Add to this the current tension ( Powell meeting) and the fact we will be deploying missile defenses soon, and I see a lot under the rug that could be a problem.
I advise caution on this.

"For political reasons, Russia can't swing her bat at these countries, so she's going to swing at us and put on a show of force with our knowledge and consent."
The timing is very odd considering we are under siege. That's a big red flag. No one plays nuclear footsie with you when you've got a red hot poker in the fire to burn out terrorism after being attacked. Otherwise it makes a little sense under normal conditions...if you agree that she can't swing the bat at them. They are pushing the envelope at the very least to see our weaknesses.

ROFLOL. Yes, well, it'd be my second for the day. Cretins set off fireworks under my bedroom window about 3am, in return for scaring the pants off them Super Bowl weekend. :)
