What's the Statue of Limitations on Credit Card Freud.

Posted on 01/20/2004 11:29:21 AM PST by fetchlife

My credit card was stolen and when I got the Monthy bill statements, it said that there mas a purchase for over $600 at Wal-Mart. I went to Wal-Mart, reviewed the video tapes and Identified the person. I reported it to the Police, and then later found out through my own connections that he had moved to Canada. Later the Police notified me of all the charges that would count aganst him when he was cought. There were 2 Felonys and one Federal Offense. Is there any Statue of Limitations on a Federal Offense, or if he came back to Utah after 7 years, could he still be cought.

I have no idea about statute of limitations but I sure hope you get the issue cleared up with your credit card company and you dont have any lasting ramifications on your credit report.

Judging by other misspellings, I doubt that the troll caught the Freud/Fraud thing.
