I understand what you say. My point is that a "coach" must rise above the ordinary and let it all hang out. Sherman did not have nor does he have that type of personality or
coaching style. While he is there we poor Packers Fans will see 12-4 and 11-5 and never a Super Bowl.
When Favre retires prepare yourself for 2-10.
(Hopefully the "2" are the Bears.)

I'm still not so quick to blame Sherman here. I don't know if Holmgren let it all hang out either. Everybody makes bad decisions, like Holmgren's not running Levens more in the Superbowl vs Denver. That probably would have won us the game.

I think the Packers have retooled nicely since Sherman took over. One of the big developments this year is that FINALLY Favre's receivers are starting to make plays. Walker, Furguson and Driver are starting to play like a top-notch receiving team. This is something the Pack hasn't had since Brooks, Chamura and Freeman (PRIOR to their Superbowl win).

So with the best running game in the league and an up and coming passing attack, Grady Jackson and the D coming around (we've clearly got the personnel on D), Sherman has done an extraordinary job refurbishing this team. By the time Favre retires, there won't be the huge drop-off the way there would have been a few years ago. (In fact, with some of his bad interceptions, it might be a blessing.)

Basically, I think Sherman has rebuilt the team w/o ever falling to less than 9-7. How many other teams have been as good for as long without falling at least for a year into the cellar? The team Sherman inherited was well on its way to the bottom, just like every other one-time contender.
