Oh jeez - let's not even go there! He rolled out and fell down right in front of Strahan, who simply had to lay a hand on him for the sack. And this happened with the game in hand and the Pack simply needing to run the clock out. Please don't even try to rationalize that. Even Favre denied doing it with a knowing wink-and-a-smile. True wisconsin cheese!

Cool! And it will be in New England, very cool. Sure hope Payton and the boys have been practicing outdoors this week. Although I've been by the Colts complex several times and have not seen them doing so.

I also hope they wear some long sleeves. The Titan's were idiots playing in short sleeves with a 4 degree temp.

Sorry not buying it for a second. Favre plays the game to win. He enjoys being persued by defenses, he's always had a raport with the guys trying to cream him. I saw no win and smile and I'm not going to accuse a guy playing the game with a broken of thumb of throwing a single down, you can if you want but I won't cross that line EVER and I will think less of anyone that does.

Now I'm convinced that you can only get your jollies by belittling others

oh please. the only thing I'm compensating for is the world's smallest violin, currently playing a tune for you.

you disagree with me a lot. get over it.

I do think that game was fixed

are you people retarded?? you can't FIX a game-tying FG, or a game-winning FG, or a catch. these are SUCCESSES that you don't get to do-over if they don't work out. is cognitive dissonance THAT strong that you can't accept brett favre got outdueled?

I hadn't given the Colts much thought all year until I watched them against KC, and I was blown away. Whoever emerges from the Pats-Colts matchup will manhandle either of the NFC teams that are left.

Thinking of the Colts makes me think of Tony Mandarich - who the Packers picked 1st in that year's draft, right before the Lions took Barry Sanders.

Talk about kicking yourself around the block a few times....

Sam Huff of Redskins Radio hates the Prevent Defense. He says - and I and nearly everyone who watches football - that it prevents victory. If your blitz's are working - and they were which is part of the reason McNabb got into 4th and 26 - then keep blitzing him.

they SHOULD have continued to blitz, if only to force a throw before anyone could even run 26 yards.

without any help from NFL affirmative action.

and we get to the root of your problem! according to the "stats" you cite, vinny testaverde will also be in the Hall. should he be?

Brett's thumb wasn't broken when he handed Strahan that sack. It was a gift - affirmative action perhaps? NFL policy? Dunno, but Favre most certainly gave that sack away, all tied up in a bow. Think what you want.

Favre's streak is still alive

yeah, and whiskey and vicodin had nothing to do with THAT. yet we want asterisks next to home run records... unreal.

Brett's thumb has been busted up for almost every single play of the last four seasons INCLUDING that game. it was a clean sack PERIOD and syaing you know what was in Favre's mind at the time is insulting to him and me. I'd recommend you drop the issue.

Green tripped over Whale's feet on 4th and goal, otherwise he would have scored.

ever think that maybe, just maybe there was a reason Whale was a yard back? there was, and his name is corey simon.

Favre has been having a lot of problems with receiving corps lately. This year was no exception. He hasn't had a solid go-to guy since Freeman slowed down, although some of the younger guys took up some slack, his go-to guy was Ahman Green (second on the team in receiving). In the Rams playoff game receivers ran wrong routes, especially when Favre would call an audible. And anyone who has heard the problems that occur with indoor stadiums, calling an "audible" is nearly impossible. Last year the Packers limped into the playoffs and even at 12-4 probably didn't belong there. As for Favre being over-rated, that is of course a matter of opinion. I would have to check but I believe Favre is close to John Elway in the number of 4th qtr comeback wins. Also , another great QB, Marino, never won a Super Bowl.

Mistakes can hurt a team and Favre made plenty this year, but his value cannot be underrated. Without him they would have been a below average team. Without him for the last 11 years the packers would have been an average or below average team. Mistakes aside, I believe that one cannot underestimate his value to the Packers and the league. When he retires it will leave a huge vacuum, especially here in Titletown. And the press (even I curse them sometimes) will have an even bigger field day when that happens.

yeah the same Corey Simon that spent 99% of the game counting the stars in Philly's night sky. He regularly got pounded completely off the line during the game, got lucky once.

he came up HUGE when it counted, like 0 out of 45 packers did. I hope the weather's good wherever they're golfing.

Yea that was an awesome game. Man handled is right. And I think the louder the crowd yelled, the better Payton liked it. Payton's on a major ROLL!

:-))

LOL - or else? Easy big guy, I'm just one of millions who saw that for what it was. But go on with your belief, nothing for us to argue about anymore. First time I heard the bad thumb excuse for that play though.

Payton's on a major ROLL!

he's the only QB I worry about facing, he's carved up the Eagles the last 2 meetings.

so I hope the patriots beat him. =)
