Fry's is periodically having specials that beat the other places I look for gear.

Under $200 for the latest special on the Maxtor's!

$179 before a $30 rebate, which I usually fail to get cause I get busy and miss the 2 week deadlines!

Newegg has the drive for $208 !

Prices are steadily going down.

I wonder if this terabyte drive is one drive with 10 platters or just how it is put together.

I just got a Maxtor 120Gb USB 2.0 external drive at Newegg for $149 after the $30 rebate. I popped in a new USB 2.0 PCI card to get the high transfer rates of USB 2.0.

I'm using it as backup storage for my two networked PCs.

I wonder if this terabyte drive is one drive with 10 platters or just how it is put together.

I was wondering that myself. Could it possibly be some sort of mini-RAID setup to make one large logical device?
